PR Life

A personal operating system for capturing thoughts, organising work, and seeing the day in context.

ROLE

I designed and built my private personal operating system.

PR Life case study

01 / THE PERSONAL SYSTEM

Capture, work, and the day around it.

PR Life brings text and voice capture, tasks, projects, and calendar context into one private app. Today is the starting point; the other views hold the detail.

TASKS / Different views of the same work.

02 / GETTING IT DOWN

A thought can stay a note or become a task.

Text and voice captures are saved as entries. When an entry reads like a task, Life attempts to create one without making the capture depend on that step succeeding. I can also add tasks directly.

03 / TWO KINDS OF CONTEXT

Projects hold the work. Studio holds the references.

Projects organise tasks, sub-projects, milestones, and pages. Studio is a separate visual space for images, links, moodboards, and design notes that can feed a project later.

PROJECTS / From the project list into UXR250 and its working views.

04 / THE DAILY VIEW

The same day, with a different emphasis on each screen.

On desktop, capture sits beside tasks, the schedule, captured entries, and a morning brief when one is available. On a phone, Today prioritises capture, tasks, and the schedule.

CALENDAR / Month, week, day, and agenda views; opening an event form.

05 / LOOKING BACK

The system also makes room to review.

Life includes morning briefs, end-of-day reports, and weekly reports. Reports sit alongside the task and calendar views; they do not replace the underlying work.

Weekly brief with an intention, the week ahead, and priorities to protect
REVIEW / The week ahead, in one brief.

06 / BEYOND THE SCREEN

A task can become something I can hold.

The thermal printer is a physical extension of Life. It takes a selected task out of the app and onto a small paper ticket.

07 / WHERE IT IS NOW

One system, with room for different kinds of work.

PR Life is a private tool I designed and built for myself. Capture, planning, and review stay together; extensions such as the printer give a task another form.
